This image consists of a small tea kettle on a countertop. No cutting planes were added to the scene. Illumination comes from a single barn light off to the right of the screen. All objects were rendered as plastic.
Notice the hard, distinct shadow formed by the upper cabinets. The shadow is very crisp because generating soft or gradiated shadows is very difficult for most rendering algorithms.
