Modelling Universe

This is a snapshot of the modelling universe used for rendering the box images. The white wire-frame object is the actual box while the green pyramids represent the barn-light used to illuminate the scene. The cutting plane is represented by the red and blue lines. In the modelling world, the cutting plane is an infinite half-plane which modulates the intensity of light passing through it.

The blue horizontal line of the cutting plane represents the boundary for greatest intensity while the horizontal red line represents the least intensity. For the region between these lines, the intensity of light is gradiated along a cubic. The single, vertical red line is an axis upon which the cutting plane can we rotated.
