Massively parallel computer offer the promise of great advances in
computational fluid dynamics, semiconductor device and process
simulation, global climate modeling, and other applications, but they
are not yet as widely used as their capabilities would suggest. The
Castle Project addresses the lack of software tools through a
collaborative research program with four levels: scientific
applications, parallel languages, parallel libraries, and low-level
system support.
