Incremental FORTRAN Language Analysis for Ensemble

We are designing and implementing a static analysis component for
formal documents such as computer programs in the Ensemble multimedia
editing system. Our first target language is fortran. We already have
an incremental parser working for fortran under Ensemble. Our next
goal is to incorporate incremental semantic analysis. To achieve this
we are using the Colander-II Analysis Definition Language, which is
the source language for static analysis descriptions for Colander II,
the incremental static analysis facility of Ensemble.

Currently there is work going on Colander II to support all the
features required for an incremental semantic analysis for fortran,
and parallel to it we are also writing a fortran description that will
be used by Colander II.
