                          Abstract

     A real-time channel[Fer89a]  is  a  simplex  connection
between  two  nodes characterized by parameters representing
the performance requirements of the client.  In this  paper,
we  consider  fast establishment of real-time channels, i.e.
data can be sent on a real-time channel without waiting  for
a  connection  establishment to be confirmed by the destina-
tion.
